Keeping the MAGIC in Vegas

By Soul and Salsa

The MAGIC fashion trade show of Las Vegas is the one-stop-shop for all things in the fashion marketplace, including women’s and men’s fashion, footwear, accessories, and more. This exhibit helps pave the path between brands and buyers, as well as facilitates networking and marketing opportunities. The MAGIC trade show of Las Vegas has a deep and rich history, but after the pandemic scare, the question is where does it stand today?

Starting in 1933, the MAGIC fashion event was originally known better by its acronym – Men’s Apparel Guild in California. It originally showcased men’s fashion, but has evolved to include women’s apparel as well. By1989, the California show moved to Las Vegas, where it rapidly gained national recognition. The MAGIC fashion and trade show prides itself on not just being a fashion event, but a total fashion experience. It also features new trends, opportunities to network with designers, owners, and influencers to gain insight from the top leaders in the industry. Celebrities even turn up to showcase their brands, support others or to simply keep up to date on all things fashion. From Beyonce, the Kardashians, Avril Lavigne, P Diddy and so many others, it’s no wonder the MAGIC trade show has astonishing success.

As a global leader in fashion in Las Vegas each year, all involved were met with disappointment when COVID-19 led to the cancellation of the highly publicized event in September-October of 2021. However, there has been a relatively quick turnaround and MAGIC is making its debut in New York City this Fall. The traditional format will make its way to the East Coast in hopes of gaining a whole new array of audience. The typical selections of apparel, footwear, and accessories will be found at the NYC convention, as well as the introduction of a brand new curation entitled, “Emerging Designers.” With the introduction of this new category, MAGIC hopes to build even more relationships among brands, business opportunities, young and emerging artists.
