Rent the Runway

By Jessica Brant

Rent the Runway is a popular subscription-based rental service that keeps up with the styles, sizes, and budgets of fashionistas everywhere. Founded in 2009 as an e-commerce site that allows customers to borrow or purchase high-end designer brands. Rent the Runway has remixed its inventory to include more fashion staples for the everyday, as opposed to one-off occasions. Here are some of the trends we predict will sizzle this. Ruffled mini skirts make staying cool a breeze, because they are versatile, and can be dressed up or down. This navy Tabitha skirt by Ramy Brook will look ravishing paired with a vintage tee or crop top. Pastel-colors are easy to transition from spring to summer. All you have to do is add the right accessories, like this gorgeous Pastel Plisse dress by Three Floor. It will be your new summer go-to. Pair it with a pastel pink crossbody or mini backpack and you will look stunning. Despite what some may think, bra tops are not meant to be hidden. Everyone from Chrissy Teigan to Taylor Swift rock these with more traditional styles, like blazers or pencil skirts. We suggest wearing a bold one like a Bedford Stroke sports bra by Phat Buddha under a white linen button down or jean jacket. Halter dresses are perfect for showing off a fit upper body. This burnt orange halter dress by Moon River embodies the simplicity of a summer afternoon under a cabana.

Cutouts will definitely be a big fashion trend this summer. Chanel and Alexander McQueen both rocked them on the runway in the past. When you go on vacation, don’t forget to pack a classic black dress like this one by Jill Stuart while enjoying a few martinis or the cocktail of your choice. Pillow bags are lush to the touch and comfy against the body. While running errands, why not tote this Marc Jacobs handbag in pistachio or orange? Aviator sunglasses never go out of style. This pair of Derek Lam Loraine sunglasses are the perfect addition to a floral print sundress or tube top – uniting masculine and feminine styles into one look. Marble sunglasses are definitely on trend, and you will see a lot of folks working these into their summer eyewear. This pair of geometric-shaped Derek Lam Marble Nicole sunglasses are perfect for the beach or a nautical excursion. 9. Denim shirts Who says you need to wear pants? Oversized denim shirts are also fashionable. Lizzo was spotted sporting one, a Raf Simons logo patch denim, recently. You might not send the paparazzi into a tizzy in this denim work shirt by Divine Heritage, but you’ll still turn a few heads.
