Chanel's Karl Lagerfield Metiers d'Art Paris-Dallas Fashion Show
Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld is bringing his “Metiers d’Art” show to Dallas!!
The choice of the American city is “a tribute to the United States, the only ones who supported the return of Gabrielle Chanel in 1954 in Paris.” He also stressed the importance of Métiers d’Art – which will be highlighted at the show – and those who perpetuate the excellence of French savoir-faire:
The Return, a film imagined, written and directed by Karl Lagerfeld will premiere in Dallas, Texas, on Tuesday, December 10th 2013, before the 2013/14 Métiers d’Art runway show, titled “Paris-Dallas”. The screening and the fashion show will take place in Dallas Fair Park, a historical exhibition venue with art deco architecture that is situated in the heart of the city.
Following the short film Once Upon a Time…, which had its debut last May in Singapore, in which Karl Lagerfeld explored Gabrielle Chanel’s early days in Deauville in 1913, The Return retraces her footsteps to the reopening of her couture house in 1954 in Paris, and the importance of the role that the United States played in this come back.
The Return features Geraldine Chaplin in the role of Gabrielle Chanel alongside Rupert Everett, Anna Mouglalis, Lady Amanda Harlech, Arielle Dombasle and Kati Nescher as well as Vincent Darré and Sam McKnight. This new short film by Karl Lagerfeld will be premiered – in his presence – in Dallas, on December 10th, 2013 at 6:30pm local time, and simultaneously on chanel.com.
